Classic Glow
Old shapes, worn the way you’d wear anything else. What each one is, and what its name means.
平安扣
píng ān kòu
"Safe" and "buckle". A flat ring with a centre hole, descended from the ancient bi disc.
葫芦
hú lu
The gourd. Its name sounds like 福禄 (fú lù), so it has been carved for centuries.
莲
lián
The lotus, which grows clean out of mud.
路路通
lù lù tōng
A hollow barrel bead. The name means "clear paths".
白菜
bái cài
Cabbage. Its name sounds like 百财 (bǎi cái), and carvers love its curled leaves.
无事牌
wú shì pái
A deliberately uncarved plaque: "nothing happening".
You don’t have to believe any of it to love the shape.
